Easing the stress of a house sale during divorce

Divorce known to be one of life’s stressful experiences.
For this client, dealing with this and the subsequent sale of her house could have been overwhelming, but our sensitive team worked with her to ensure a smooth process at every step of the way.

The client’s requirements
We had worked with this client for some time, initially dealing with her divorce. As part of that process, each spouse was moving into a separate property and our client came to us to deal with her sale and onwards purchase, and later her Will.

How we helped
As is often the case during divorce, we were not able to proceed with the sale until a Financial Consent Order was in place in relation to their divorce. We then had to ensure that we followed and complied with the Order in terms of the sale proceeds. This is something we deal with frequently and we were able to guide our client through the process quickly and efficiently.

Challenges
Unfortunately, our client’s onward purchase fell through, and she then decided to temporarily go into rented accommodation to allow her sale to complete. Her plan was to then find another property to purchase later down the line.

Result
This was a very stressful time for the client dealing with her divorce and selling her property at the same time. Bridger’s Law was open and honest with her at all times and explained the process as we went along. We were always just a phone call away for any concerns or questions that the client had in terms of the process.
