We are enormously proud to announce that our founder, Duane Bridger, has been granted the Freedom of the City of London, recognising his outstanding achievements to the legal profession and wider community.
Duane was awarded the Freedom during a formal ceremony at the Guildhall. Historically, the Freedom was linked to membership of a City of London guild or livery company. Today, this honour celebrates individuals who have achieved excellence in their field or made a significant contribution to the public, or to charity.
Duane commented, ‘As a member of the Guild of Entrepreneurs I was delighted when they confirmed that I am eligible to be admitted as a Freeman of the City of London.
‘Although we are based in Kent, we work with clients and agents based in London and being part of what is arguably the most successful and popular city on this planet is difficult to put into words.
‘I am immensely proud to be part of a ceremony that is believed to have been first presented in 1237 joining the ranks of Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela and Michael Caine.
‘Although nowadays many of the privileges which allowed one to earn money and own land have been superseded by modern times, it is an institution with a wealth of history and one which I feel privileged to be a part of.’
The award is a huge honour for Duane, and also highlights the vital role of solicitors in upholding the values of integrity, service, and excellence.
